The war in Tigray has left deep scars on the region, displacing millions, destroying infrastructure, and leaving countless people without access to basic necessities. Families have been torn apart, children have lost access to education, and communities that once thrived have been reduced to ruins. However, in the midst of devastation, there is hope.

Our organization is committed to supporting Tigray’s recovery by providing emergency aid, rebuilding communities, and helping survivors heal. Though the challenges are immense, we believe that through collective action, we can help Tigrayans transition from surviving to thriving.

Providing Immediate Relief to Survivors

One of our top priorities is addressing the urgent needs of displaced families and war victims. Many have lost everything—homes, businesses, and even loved ones. Thousands of Tigrayans have fled to neighboring Sudan, while many others remain internally displaced within Ethiopia, struggling to find food, shelter, and medical care.

Through our emergency relief efforts, we provide:

  • Temporary Shelter: For those who have lost their homes, we help provide temporary housing solutions, ensuring they have a safe place to stay.
  • Food and Clean Water: Malnutrition is a major concern, particularly among children and pregnant women. We work to deliver food supplies and clean drinking water to those in need.
  • Medical Assistance: With hospitals destroyed and medical supplies scarce, access to healthcare is critical. We provide medicines, first aid kits, and support for those suffering from war-related injuries and illnesses.

Rebuilding Lives and Communities

Beyond emergency aid, our focus is on long-term recovery and rebuilding. Tigray needs sustainable solutions that help communities recover and regain independence. This includes:

  • Community Development Projects: From repairing roads to restoring local markets, we work with communities to rebuild the foundation of daily life.
  • Reconstructing Schools and Healthcare Centers: The war has destroyed essential infrastructure, making it difficult for people to access education and medical services. Restoring these facilities is a crucial part of our mission.
  • Livelihood Support: Many families have lost their sources of income. We aim to help them rebuild through vocational training, job placement programs, and small business support.

Healing Trauma and Supporting Mental Health

War does not only destroy buildings; it shatters lives. Many survivors, especially women and children, have faced extreme trauma, including violence, loss, and displacement. The psychological toll is immense, and mental health support is just as important as physical recovery.

Our mental health programs include:

  • Community Healing Programs: By bringing people together, we encourage open conversations, peer support, and collective healing..
  • Counseling and Therapy: We connect survivors with professionals who can help them process their experiences and begin healing.
  • Safe Spaces for Women and Children: War-related gender-based violence (GBV) has left many women and girls deeply traumatized. We are working to create support centers where survivors can find protection, legal assistance, and emotional care.
